Fifteen years writing software. Five years running a dirt work company.

I grew up on a farm, running tractors and other equipment, while also realizing I had a knack for working with computers and writing software.

What started out as a hobby building simple websites for small businesses, friends and family, turned into a career working on apps and services for the next fifteen years.

Five years ago I started Incredi-DIRT, a small property maintenance and dirt work company. The machine work came back easy. The office work was another story: keeping up with leads, tracking of projects and machines, and getting invoices out after a full day in the seat was a challenge and a chore.

So I did what I know how to do and built myself an app. I called it Ground Control, just for Incredi-DIRT — leads, projects, machine hours, servicing and invoices, all in one place.

Then I kept seeing the same posts in the Facebook groups. Guys running an outfit like mine, needing a way to track the work and bill for it, and a website so customers could find them — and they were getting quoted steep prices by website firms for a plain website without any bells and whistles.

Dozer Base does what a small dirt work company actually needs, and nothing you have to hire anybody to set up.
